Our PPP and Projects practice offers specialized services focusing on the procurement and implementation of PPP Projects in Ethiopia. We have experience advising project participants, including government, developers, financial institutions, private equity investors, and lenders.  

Our services in this aspect include:  

• Advising on the policy and regulatory framework for developing, procuring, and implementing PPPs in Ethiopia.
• Assisting with Project structuring, bid document preparation, project documentation review, and bidder consultations.
• Reviewing project and finance agreements, EPC and O & M agreements, fuel supply agreements and security documents.
• Drafting due diligence reports.
• Facilitating the incorporation and licensing of the project company, obtaining all forms of local consents, permits, exemptions and incentives. 
• Supporting with land acquisition, including drafting/reviewing land lease agreements and securing title deeds.
• Issuing and procuring legal opinions.

Recent Work Highlights: 

• Acting as a lead legal advisor to a health PPP project in Ethiopia, supporting the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Finance.
• Assisting co-investors with the development and implementation of a solar PPP project in Ethiopia
• Assisting private developers with developing, negotiating, and implementing a wind PPP project in Ethiopia.
